In 1967 Shelby American in conjunction with Ford Motor Company produced 2048 Shelby GT500's. Also in 1967, Ford/Shelby designated only 82 of the 2048 Shelby GT500's to come with Factory Air Conditioning. They designated 10 of those 82 cars to be Wimbledon White, #2532 is 1 of those 10 cars built and 1 of 9 that still exist today. This was the first year Shelby produced a GT500 and the first year the Shelby's received a Ford Big Block. This stunning example Shelby #2532 still contains the original 428 Police Interceptor big block engine along with the original C-6 Automatic transmission. Carol Shelby himself signed the glove box door of #2532. Both the engine and transmission were professionally rebuilt in 2006 and the car was disassembled, the underside was repainted with the correct red primer and the engine compartment was also correctly detailed. #2532 still has many of the original hard to find parts on her such as the original Magstar rims (including spare) and correct Kelsey-Hayes "Small Letter" Goodyear Speedway 350's, original "SPEC" rear case, battery tray, original twin 4 barrel carburettors, starter relay, THE ORIGINAL AIR CLEANER ELEMENT, original air cleaner lid, and original steering wheel to name a few.
What also makes #2532 such a valuable collector piece is the extremely detailed history book which contains a copy of every single title of the previous the owners the car has had, the statement of origin from JD Ball Ford in Miami, a Marti Report and Ford "999" report issued in 2006 along with vintage pictures of previous owners with the car along with many other detailed and collector items. The car has been in the SAAC family since the late 1970's and did parade laps at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway at SAAC 3. When people think of the Muscle Car Era the 1967 Shelby GT500 is one the first cars to come to mind. 1967 Shelby GT500 #2532 bearing the very recognizable wimbledon white and guardsman blue racing stripes is the epitome of the Muscle Car Era of the 1960's.
