This stunning 1968 Eagle Indy Car, Chassis 40-1, was produced by the legendary racecar driver, designer, and builder Dan Gurney for the famed Indy team owner Lindsey Hopkins. Roger McCluskey drove this car in the 1968 Indy 500. He qualified this car 7th and ran as high as 2nd before being sidelined with a cooler leak. McCluskey campaigned this car during the 1968 USAC season with success. Bobby Unser won the 1968 Indy 500 in the sister car.

Interested in vintage racing? This car has been restored to original specification and livery by RaceCar Restorations/Walter Goodwin and it is eligible for numerous vintage racing events. Since restoration, the Eagle appeared at the UK's famous Goodwood Festival of Speed, with Indianapolis 500-winning driver and racing team owner Bobby Rahal behind the wheel.

The car is powered by a freshly rebuilt 2.65-liter (168 cubic inch) turbocharged Offenhauser which produces 750 horsepower at 8,500 RPM. The car also has the period correct Hewland LG 500 MK I 4-speed transaxle.
