This is an investment grade, very early build (168th car built in the model year), numbers matching 327 / 300Hp, 1966 Corvette Convertible equipped with rare factory Air Conditioning, Power-Glide Transmission, Power Steering, Power Brakes, and Power Windows. This car has just received an eight-year, labor of love, frame off restoration to NCRS specifications with strict attention to detail. No expense was spared during the restoration of this investment grade Corvette. Only NOS, original or high quality reproduction parts were used on this highly collectable American sports car. Details of the frame off restoration are as follows. Obviously, not every item is included, but the following will provide you an idea of the level of the restoration. Exterior: All New; emblems, tail lights, park lights, rocker moldings, exhaust bezels, door handles, lock sets, license plate lamp, bezel and trim, correct power antennae, gas door, window felts, side mirror, reproduction tinted windshield. New bumper brackets and Triple re-chrome of straight original bumpers and vent window frames. New dated top mechanism from Sully's Tops, with new correct Al Knoch top with dealer tag and stamp and all new internal latches and pins. Windshield stainless professionally straightened and polished. Refurbished original steel wheels, and original hubcaps were professionally polished and New spinners, spacers and emblems were installed. New correct headlight buckets with NOS T-3 headlights. New correct sized BFG whitewall radials for safety and comfort. New correct blinker panels professionally installed as original. Professional Body and Paint work done on good original body. Body was taken down to bare fiberglass, new gel coat applied and painted with base coat / clear coat of original 1966 Corvette Nassau Blue (car was Sunfire Yellow from factory). Frame and Chassis: Frame stripped bare, shot blasted and powder coated. Frame markings, stencils and dates were reproduced as original. Rebuilt Original 3.36:1 Posi-Traction rear. Original rear spring was rebuilt, painted to factory colors and reassembled with original plastic spacers. All New u-joints, wheel bearings, bushings, gas tank and sending unit, gas and break lines, and stainless steel calipers. Rear spindles and trailing arms were professionally rebuilt and aligned. Even new radio ground straps were installed as original. Engine / Engine Compartment: Rebuilt numbers matching original 327 / 300 Hp, block bored 0.030 and assembled with New bearings, rings, cam, lifters, oil pump, and timing chain. Heads rebuilt with new valves, springs and hardened valve seats (so everything is lubricated well with today's unleaded gasoline). Correct rebuilt dated Holley 3367 carburetor with correct air cleaner assembly. Rebuilt automatic Power-Glide transmission with new torque converter. Original headlight and wiper motors were professionally rebuilt to NCRS specifications by Corvettes by Roger. All new aluminized exhaust from manifolds and heat riser to new stainless tips. Original master cylinder rebuilt with stainless steel sleeve and original reservoir caps installed on a correctly replated and rebuilt power booster. Replacement brass radiator, with new fan, clutch and shroud. Rebuilt original power steering pump. All New air conditioning and heating components - condenser, evaporator, compressor, heater core, dryer and lines. Original POA STV valve was rebuilt with NOS diaphragm. Original horns were rebuilt and installed with an original NOS Delco Remy horn relay. Original ignition shielding was professionally polished and installed over original NOS AC spark plugs. All new correct Lectric Limited wiring harness from the headlights to the taillights. New correct hood hinges and latches. The correctness and detail of the engine and compartment is truly a work of art! Interior: All new interior including, carpets, door panels, visors, rear-view mirror, door and deck lid seals, seat springs, burlap, foam and correct leather covers. Original dash pads were only cleaned and preserved (they were and are in excellent condition). Beautiful reproduction Teak Steering Wheel (looks identical to original). New neutral safety and power window switches. New turn signal cam. NOS horn button. Professional rebuild of the original gauges, clock, am/fm radio with new speaker, and glove box door by Corvettes by Roger to NCRS specifications. New air conditioning and fan control cable. New power antennae and headlight switches. There are a few items that still need to be sorted out. Here are the details; The side windows and channels need to be adjusted. They do go up and down well, but with the doors closed they are slower rising at the top. Some further "tweaking" will straighten this out. The A/C system needs to be charged - O-rings for R134 were installed. Approximately 750 miles have been clocked on this truly rare piece of corvette history since the complete restoration culminating in July of 2004.
