Between 1967 and 1969 Chevrolet produced only 216 fire-breathing race ready L88s. With horsepower ratings around 520 the L88 stands alone at the top of all muscle cars. This L88 is 1 of only 17 L88s produced with factory automatic transmission, which puts it in the category of ultra rare. The automatic L88 was only available in 1969 and cost an additional $290.40 over the manual transmission. It is also optioned with the J56 special heavy-duty brakes, F41 special front and rear suspension, J50 power brakes, and N14 side-mounted exhaust. Only 20% of all L88s sport the desirable factory side exhaust. Dressed out in its original Lemans blue exterior and original black interior, it makes a striking impression.
