Following in this success just a few short years later, the 365 GT made its debut at the Paris Salon in 1967. Design cues enhanced the already attractive car from the limited edition 500 Superfast and the contemporary 330 GTC. There were a total of 800 examples produced of only its second production four-seater vehicle, again half of Ferrari's total production of 12-cylinder automobiles. Apart from the front seats, those who wished to tag along and had to sit in the rear usually had sufficient headroom and legroom for most passengers, a well-designed feature of a low-slung sporting grand tourer, for the purpose of the vehicle was to provided performance and comfort. As a result, Ferrari's banker's hotrod was outfitted with power steering, electric windows, leather interior, power assisted brakes, full carpeting, and optional air conditioning throughout its four-year model run. Under the hood, a Columbo-designed single-overhead cam 4390cc V-12 engine with three Weber carburetors pushed out a more-than-adequate 320 horsepower; zero-to-sixty took only seven seconds with top speed being achieved at 150 mph.. The front and rear suspension for most of the series was independent with transverse parallelograms and coil springs suspension as well as Koni hydro-pneumatic load-levelling shocks in the rear. A fully sorted and mechanically-fresh example, this particular Ferrari comes complete with extensive service history, documented with receipts and recently benefited from a full engine rebuild and blueprinting by noted Italian supercar authority Bob Wallace. Following this mechanical rejuvenation, the already-strong cosmetics were treated to over 130 hours of cosmetic detailing under a year ago inside and out to include a comprehensive interior restoration. Today, this vehicle sports a fresh full-leather interior and contains all the period correct items including the vintage Blaupunkt radio, owner's manual with pouch and warranty card and a completely-correct and authentic tool kit acquired during the past year to round out the exceptional array of Concours-correct perfection every Ferrari owner hopes to attain. Even the period-correct Michelin XWX tires on the gorgeous Borrani wire wheels this car wears stand to ensure the new owner a complete package representing the very best of the best.
