Russo and Steele’s Charity Gala Raises Over $150,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona

Scottsdale, AZ. (Mar 8, 2010) -- Russo and Steele’s 10th Anniversary Charity Gala, held on January 20th, 2010, raised over $150,000 in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona. The sold out event’s layout was dramatically altered with a hip new lounge theme that created the most dynamic environment ever seen at a charity gala.

Tim Reister, Chairman of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona board, described the night as an “exquisite evening that resulted in helping us provide life-changing mentors for more children in Arizona. We are so appreciative of Drew and Josephine Alcazar for including Big Brothers Big Sisters as the beneficiary of Russo & Steele's Gala."
The Groove Merchants music kept the dance floor filled, while the ample amounts of delicious fare provided by Arizona’s finest chefs delighted attendees. The restaurants that participated were Eddie’s House, A Different Point of View, the Biltmore, Orange Sky, Frank and Lupes, Mojo Yogurt, RA Sushi, Trader Vics, Cork, Tiburon, Barrio Café and the Phoenician.

The Alcazars stated “we’ve never had a charity gala quite as spectacular as this year. We’ve always strive to provide the remarkable and our lounge theme definitely did the job; it was anything but your traditional sit down. Big Brothers Big Sisters did a tremendous job with the selection of LIVE and silent auction items, the Groove Merchants were amazing, and the number of people that attended was stunning; we are thrilled that the event was so well received and that our small part helped raise over $150,000 for the valley children.”

Amanda Crossland, the Vice President of Development for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona, stated “being a part of the Russo and Steele Charity Gala was such an exciting opportunity for our agency. The Alcazar’s and entire Russo and Steele family are exceptional and we are thrilled to have been a part of their wonderful organization.”
