Russo and Steele Auction Will Offer Road-Ready Certified™ Vehicles in Scottsdale

Russo and Steele announced today that Road-Ready Certified vehicles will be available at the Scottsdale auction in January 2012.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., - (December 13, 2011) –The Road-Ready Certified program from industry leaders ClassicCars.com and Hemmings Motor News, introduces the first uniform standards for roadworthiness to the classic car marketplace. To become Road-Ready Certified, a vehicle must pass a road test and a 50-point inspection performed by an independent ASE-certified mechanic. The buyer of the classic car receives a 3-month/3,000 mile limited powertrain warranty and a year of 24-hour roadside assistance, all of which is paid for by the vehicle’s seller.

“We believe the certification program by ClassicCars.com and Hemmings Motor News will benefit both our consignors and bidders,” said Drew Alcazar, CEO of Russo and Steele. The program is designed for classic cars intended to be driven; it is not a verification process for numbers matching, fact checking histories, or any of the due diligence that buyers are required to perform prior to purchasing the automobile.  The Road Ready Certified automobiles only certify that should the buyer want to drive their new classic car home, they can without any worry.

However, this program is not just for the buyer, consignors benefit as well. All certified cars receive extensive pre-auction marketing on ClassicCars.com, Hemmings.com and in the Russo and Steele digital catalog. Road-Ready Certified vehicles benefit from preferred placement in search results and exclusive badging throughout ClassicCars.com and Hemmings.com. Additionally, prospective buyers may view each certified vehicle’s complete inspection report on ClassicCars.com. Certified vehicles are easily distinguished on the auction lot by distinctive “Road-Ready Certified Classic Vehicle” seals and window stickers. Furthermore, Russo and Steele auctioneers will identify Road-Ready Certified vehicles as they cross the block.

“The Russo and Steele auction is a great venue for Road-Ready Certification,” said Roger Falcione, CEO of ClassicCars.com. “Bidders who buy to drive can’t test drive the vehicles at the auction. Certification gives them the peace of mind that the cars are truly ready for the road.”
