Rare "Big Tank" 1965 Corvette Coupe to be Auctioned by Russo and Steele in Scottsdale
36.5-Gallon Fuel Tank and Disc Brake Delete One-of-a-Kind Offered at No Reserve
Scottsdale, AZ. (Dec 2, 2005) -- Russo and Steele's January 20-21 "Sports and Muscle in Scottsdale" collector automobile auction will feature an extremely rare 1965 Corvette Coupe optioned with a 36-gallon fuel tank and disc brake delete. The car will be sold at No Reserve. Finished in Nassau blue with black leather, this car is correctly coded as a 327/375hp with matching numbers. It was originally optioned form the factory with a 36.5-gallon fuel tank, which makes it one of 41 ever sold. Additionally, the original owner ordered this car with disc brake delete. Other options include telescopic steering wheel, tinted glass, AM/FM radio, power brakes and an off- road exhaust system. The amazing depth of rare factory options makes this car truly a one-of-one, and highly desirable to collectors. It has recently undergone a body-off restoration.This car is an NCRS Top Flight award winner, Bloomington Gold and Triple Crown award winner.
Russo and Steele will feature over two-dozen highly-collectable Corvettes at their January 20-21 Scottsdale sale. These include a his-and-hers pair of highly- optioned '67s, one a 427/400 hp roadster, and the other a 427/350 hp coupe. Other significant 'Vettes include a '60 dual four-barrel roadster and a'66 327/350 hp roadster.
