Built on May 24th, 1968 at the Metuchen plant, and sold new at Gilboy Ford Mercury Inc. in Allentown, Pennsylvania. This car is finished in its original colors of Lime Gold with a black comfort weave interior. The Shelby production number is 3323. Of the 933 KR Fastbacks produced there were only 299 of which were produced with factory AC.

This "R" Code car is powered by a 428 Cobra Jet big block engine and an automatic C6 transmission. Rated at a nominal 335hp, The '68 GT500KR was a very special car. As a mid year production change from the standard GT500, Shelby American equipped the GT500KR with the brand new 68 1/2 428 Cobra Jet, gave it Ram Air induction, special striping, emblems and exhaust tips.

Every component of this vehicle, from the tires to the glass, is Original, Restored, or correct replacement. For instance, the battery is an Autolite Extra Heavy Duty (Shelby only application) that has never been activated. The exhaust is a complete new MCA approved Aluminum coated system. No detail was left to chance such as original inspection markings and chassis graffiti. All carefully replicated.

Original equipment includes air-conditioning, Thermactor emissions system, GT equipment group, visibility group, power steering, power front disc brakes, Am radio, 8,000RPM tach and 140 speedometer, interior dŽcor group, roll bar, tilt away steering wheel, remote drivers mirror, Lucas fog lights, Stewart Warner console gauges, 10 spoke rims with polyglas tires and more.

This stunning KR is very well optioned and is of course fully documented. This very collectible Shelby has benefited from a complete nut and bolt rotisserie restoration with only test miles since completion.

MARKET ESTIMATE: $150,000 - $175,000
